मंत्रीमंडळाची मिळाली आज मान्यता
मुंबई, दि. २७ सेप्टेंबर : जीव धोक्यात घालून वनांचे संरक्षण करणाऱ्या वन कर्मचाऱ्यांना आता पोलिस कर्मचाऱ्यांप्रमाणेच लाभ मिळणार असून आज झालेल्या मंत्रीमंडळ बैठकीत या विषयीच्या प्रस्तावाला मान्य़ता देण्यात आल्याचे वनमंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांनी सांगितले.
सुधीर मुनगंटीवार यांनी या निर्णयाची माहिती देताना सांगितले की,देशातील नागरी संपत्तीप्रमाणेच वने व वन्य़जीव ही वन संपत्ती फार महत्वाची आहे. नागरी संपत्तींचे आणि मनुष्यांचे संरक्षण करतांना जीव धोक्यात घालण्याऱ्या पोलिस कर्मचाऱ्यांना राज्य शासनातर्फे विविध लाभ देण्यात येतात. तसेच लाभ, वनांचे संरक्षण करतांना जीव धोक्यात घालणाऱ्या वन कर्मचाऱ्यांना मिळावेत, ही वन कर्मचाऱ्यांची मागणी काही वर्षे प्रंलबीत होती. वन कर्मचाऱ्यांनाही अनेक धोक्यांना तोंड द्यावे लागते. वणवे विझवताना, शिकार रोखताना, वनांतील वृक्षचोरी वा अन्य़ प्रकारची चोरी रोखताना, जखमी किंवा मानवी वस्तीत शिरलेले वन्य़ प्राणी वाचविताना वन कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या जीवाला धोका असतो. अनेकदा नैसर्गिक आपत्तींना वन कर्मचाऱ्यांना तोंड द्यावे लागते. अशा प्रकारात अनेकदा वन कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या जीवाला धोका असतो किंवा ते गंभीर जखमी होवून कायमचे दिव्यांगत्व़ येण्याचा धोका असतो.
वन विभागाच्या प्रस्तावानुसार वनांचे व वन्य़ प्राण्यांचे संरक्षण करताना दुदैवाने वन कर्मचारी मृत्युमुखी पडल्यास अशा मृत वन कर्मचाऱ्याच्या वारसास २५ लाख रुपये सानुग्रह अनुदान देण्यात येईल. त्याचप्रमाणे अशाप्रकारे कर्तव्य़ बजावताना मृत्यू पावलेल्या वन कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या वारसास अनुकंपा तत्वावर प्राधान्याने नोकरी देण्यात येईल. जर वारस नोकरी करण्यास सक्षम नसेल किंवा वारसाने नोकरी नाकारली तर सदर मृत वन कर्मचाऱ्याच्या नियत सेवानिवृत्तीच्या दिनांकापर्यंतचे वेतन सदर कुटुंबाला देण्यात येईल. तसेच कर्तव्य़ बजावताना मृत्यू पावलेल्या वन कर्मचाऱ्यांच्या पार्थिवाचे कुटुंबाने ठरवलेल्या ठिकाणपर्यंतचे रस्ते/रेल्वे/विमान इत्या. मार्गे वहन करण्याचा खर्च शासनातर्फे करण्यात येईल.
कर्तव्य़ बजावताना वन कर्मचारी जर कायमचा दिव्यांग झाला तर सदर वन कर्मचाऱ्यास श्रेणी प्रमाणे सानुग्रह अनुदान म्हणून देण्यात येईल. अशा प्रकारे कर्तव्य़ बजावताना जखमी झालेल्या वन कर्मचाऱ्याचा उपचारांचा संपूर्ण खर्च शासन करेल.मंत्री मंडळाच्या आजच्या निर्णयामुळे वन कर्मचाऱ्यांना आता भरीव लाभ मिळणार आहे. त्यामुळे वन कर्मचाऱ्यांचे नीतीधैर्य वाढेल असे सुधीर मुनगंटीवार म्हणाले.

Mumbai, Dt. 27: The forest employees who risk their lives to protect the forests will now get the same benefits as the police employees and the proposal in this regard has been approved in the cabinet meeting held today, Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar said.
Sudhir Mungantiwar while informing about this decision said that like the civil wealth of the country, forest and wildlife are very important. Various benefits are provided by the state government to the police personnel who risk their lives while protecting civil property and human beings. Also, the benefits should be given to the forest employees who risk their lives while protecting the forests, the demand of the forest employees was pending for some years. Forest employees also face many dangers. The lives of forest personnel are at risk while extinguishing fires, preventing poaching, forest theft or other forms of theft, rescuing injured or encroached wild animals. Forest employees often face natural calamities. In such cases, the lives of the forest personnel are often at risk or they are seriously injured and permanently disabled.
According to the proposal of the Forest Department, if a forest employee unfortunately dies while protecting the forests and wild animals, a benevolent grant of Rs. 25 lakh will be given to the heirs of such deceased forest employee. Similarly, the next of kin of forest employees who died while performing such duties will be given preferential employment on compassionate grounds. If the heir is not able to do the job or the heir refuses the job, the salary up to the date of scheduled retirement of the said deceased forest employee will be paid to the said family. Also Road/Rail/Air etc. to the place decided by the family of the dead bodies of forest personnel who died in line of duty. The cost of transportation will be borne by the government.
If a forest employee becomes permanently disabled while performing his duties, the said forest employee will be given a grace grant as per category.
