वायु प्रदूषण कमी करण्यास मनपाचा उपक्रम
चंद्रपूर ११ सप्टेंबर - राष्ट्रीय शुद्ध हवा कार्यक्रमांतर्गत चंद्रपूर शहरात इंधनविरहित पर्यावरणपूरक वाहतूक व्यवस्थेला प्रोत्साहन देण्याच्या उद्देशाने चंद्रपूर महानगरपालिकेने महत्वाचे पाउल उचलले आहे. शहरात सायकल चालविण्यास प्रोत्साहन मिळावे व नागरिकांनी जास्तीत जास्त सायकलचा वापर करावा, यासाठी शहरात राजीव गांधी उद्यान येथे ' शेअरिंग बायसिकल ' (सार्वजनिक सायकल सुविधा) हा उपक्रम राबविण्यात येत असून, या उपक्रमाचा शुभारंभ गुरुवार ७ सप्टेंबर रोजी आयुक्त विपीन पालीवाल यांच्या हस्ते करण्यात आला.
या उपक्रमाअंतर्गत २० सायकल उपलब्ध करून देण्यात आल्या असुन राजीव गांधी उद्यान पठाणपुरा येथे नोंदणी व मासिक शुल्क भरून नागरिकांना भाडेतत्त्वावर सायकलींचा वापर करता येणार आहे. यासाठी अगदी नाममात्र शुल्क आकारण्यात येणार असुन केवळ १०० रुपयात महिनाभर सायकल चालविता येणार आहे.
आज शहरात वाहनांची गर्दी होत असतांना अनेक गरजुंना वाहतुकीची साधने उपलब्ध नाहीत किंबहुना ते घेऊ शकत नाही. अश्यावेळेस इतर सार्वजनिक वाहतुकींच्या साधनांचा वापर करण्याऐवजी सायकल हा कुठल्याही प्रकारचे वायु प्रदूषण न करणारा सोपा पर्याय आहे.तसेच माफक शुल्कात उपलब्ध असल्याने सहज वापरण्याजोगा आहे.बाईक प्रेमी तरुणाईत सायकलप्रेम जागविण्याचा दृष्टीने मनपातर्फे सायकल शेअरिंग प्रायोगिक तत्वावर सुरु करण्यात आले आहे.
याप्रसंगी माजी नगरसेवक नंदू नागरकर, अश्विनी अलगमवार, नीता आढोणे, वैशाली आढोणे, अनुराधा काळमेघ, वर्षा सोनटक्के, रेखा रामटेके, रोहिणी काळमेघ, वर्षा खनके, पवन पुथोडे, प्रगती गुळकरी, पुष्पा नागरकर, प्रकाश चहारे, अनिता दुरटकर, रवींद्र नेरकर, अंजली साठोणे, प्राप्ती दहीवडे, माधुरी मेश्राम व परिसरातील नागरीक मोठ्या प्रमाणात उपस्थीत होते.

Municipal initiative to reduce air pollution
Chandrapur September 11 - Chandrapur Municipal Corporation has taken an important step to promote fuelless environment friendly transport system in Chandrapur city under National Clean Air Programme. In order to encourage cycling in the city and make maximum use of bicycles by the citizens, the initiative 'Sharing Bicycle' (public bicycle facility) is being implemented at Rajiv Gandhi Udyan in the city. This initiative was launched on Thursday, September 7 by Commissioner Vipin Paliwal.
Under this initiative, 20 bicycles have been made available and citizens can use the bicycles on lease at Rajiv Gandhi Udyan Pathanpura by paying monthly fee and registration. For this, a very nominal fee will be charged and one can ride a bicycle for a month for just 100 rupees.
Today, when the vehicles are congested in the city, many needy people do not have access to the means of transport, in fact they cannot afford it. At such times, instead of using other means of public transport, a bicycle is an easy option that does not pollute any air. Also, it is available at a moderate cost and is easy to use. In order to inculcate the love of bicycles among the bike lovers, the municipality has started bicycle sharing on an experimental basis.
A large number of workers, women, college students come to Chandrapur city. Chandrapur Municipal Corporation is appealing to more and more citizens to take advantage of this initiative as this activity will be more economical than the money to be paid for rickshaws or other means.
Former corporators Nandu Nagarkar, Ashwini Alagamwar, Neeta Adhone, Vaishali Adhone, Anuradha Kalmegh, Varsha Sontakke, Rekha Ramteke, Rohini Kalmegh, Varsha Khanke, Pawan Puthode, Pragati Gulkari, Pushpa Nagarkar, Prakash Chahare, Anita Duratkar, Ravindra Nerkar, Anjali Sathone were present on the occasion. Prati Dahiwade, Madhuri Meshram and local citizens were present in large numbers.
