अहमदाबाद: गुजरात के अहमदाबाद में देश का पहला सेमीकंडक्टर संयंत्र स्थापित करने की तैयारी में जुटे भारतीय कंपनी वेदांता के चेयरमैन अनिल अग्रवाल ने कहा है कि नया संयंत्र दो साल में उत्पादन शुरू कर देगा।
उन्होंने साथ ही कहा कि इसके उत्पादन से भारत में मौजूदा समय में एक लाख से के दाम वाला लैपटॉप 40 हजार से कम में मिलने लगेगा। उन्होंने कहा कि मौजूदा समय में ताइवान और कोरिया में बनने वाले सेमीकंडक्टर्स अब भारत में बनेंगे।
दरअसल, भारतीय समूह वेदांता और ताइवान की इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स कंपनी फॉक्सकॉन 1.54 लाख करोड़ रुपये के निवेश के साथ गुजरात में देश का पहला सेमीकंडक्टर संयंत्र स्थापित करने जा रही है। दांत-फॉक्सकॉन के संयुक्त उद्यम की डिस्प्ले एफएबी विनिर्माण इकाई, सेमीकंडक्टर असेंबलिंग और टेस्टिंग इकाई राज्य के अहमदाबाद जिले में 1000 एकड़ क्षेत्रफल में स्थापित की जायेगी।
इस संयुक्त उद्यम में दोनों कंपनियों की हिस्सेदारी क्रमश: 60 और 40 प्रतिशत होगी। वेदांता के चेयरमैन अनिल अग्रवाल ने मंगलवार को गुजरात सरकार के साथ इसे लेकर समझौता ज्ञापन (एमओयू) पर हस्ताक्षर भी किया।
सेमीकंडक्टर या माइक्रोचिप्स का इस्तेमाल कई डिजिटल उपभोक्ता उत्पादों में आवश्यक टुकड़े के रूप में होता है। इसका इस्तेमाल कारों से लेकर मोबाइल फोन और एटीएम कार्ड तक के उत्पादन में किया जाता है। भारतीय सेमीकंडक्टर बाजार का मूल्य वर्ष 2021 में 27.2 अरब डॉलर का था। इस क्षेत्र के 19 प्रतिशत की सालाना वृद्धि दर के साथ वर्ष 2026 तक 64 अरब डॉलर तक पहुंचने की उम्मीद है।
हालांकि, इनमें से कोई भी चिप्स अब तक भारत में निर्मित नहीं है। पिछले साल सेमीकंडक्टर आपूर्ति श्रृंखला में भारी कमी ने इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और वाहन समेत कई उद्योगों को प्रभावित किया। सरकार ने ताइवान और चीन जैसे देशों से आयात पर निर्भरता कम करने के लिए देश में सेमीकंडक्टर्स के विनिर्माण के लिए प्रोत्साहन से जुड़ी वित्तीय योजना लेकर आई है। इस कड़ी में वेदांत-फॉक्सकॉन सेमीकंडक्टर्स के लिए उत्पादन से जुड़ी प्रोत्साहन (पीएलआई) योजना के सफल आवेदकों में से एक है।

Ahmedabad: Indian company Vedanta's chairman Anil Agarwal, who is preparing to set up the country's first semiconductor plant in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has said that the new plant will start production in two years.
He also said that due to its production, at present, laptops priced below one lakh will be available in less than 40 thousand in India. He said that the semiconductors currently being made in Taiwan and Korea will now be made in India.
In fact, Indian conglomerate Vedanta and Taiwanese electronics company Foxconn are going to set up the country's first semiconductor plant in Gujarat with an investment of Rs 1.54 lakh crore. The display FAB manufacturing unit, semiconductor assembling and testing unit of the Dant-Foxconn joint venture will be set up in the state's Ahmedabad district in an area of 1000 acres.
Both the companies will hold 60 per cent and 40 per cent respectively in this joint venture. Vedanta Chairman Anil Agarwal also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government on Tuesday.
Semiconductors or microchips are used as essential pieces in many digital consumer products. It is used in the production of everything from cars to mobile phones and ATM cards. The Indian semiconductor market was valued at $27.2 billion in the year 2021. The sector is expected to reach $64 billion by 2026 with an annual growth rate of 19 percent.
However, none of these chips are manufactured in India as of now. Last year, a severe shortfall in the semiconductor supply chain affected a number of industries, including electronics and automobiles. The government has come out with a financial plan to encourage manufacturing of semiconductors in the country to reduce dependence on imports from countries like Taiwan and China. In this episode, Vedanta-Foxconn is one of the successful applicants of the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Semiconductors.
