जॉनसन बेबी पाउडर का विनिर्माण लाइसेंस रद्द
मुंबई: महाराष्ट्र खाद्य एवं औषधि प्रशासन ने बड़ा फैसला लेते हुए मुंबई के मुलुंड में जॉनसन एंड जॉनसन प्राइवेट लिमिटेड के जॉनसन बेबी पाउडर का विनिर्माण लाइसेंस रद्द कर दिया है।
पुणे और नासिक में लिए गए पाउडर के नमूने सरकार द्वारा मानक गुणवत्ता के अनुरूप नहीं घोषित किए जाने के बाद ये फैसला लिया गया है।
🔹कंपनी ने साल 2023 से टैल्कम पाउडर का उत्पादन बंद करने की घोषणा की थी
बेबी पाउडर बनाने वाली नामी कंपनी जॉनसन एंड जॉनसन ने अगस्त 2022 में कहा था कि साल 2023 से वह टैल्कम पाउडर का उत्पादन बंद कर देगी। कंपनी की ओर से कहा गया था कि वह टेल्कम पाउडर के उत्पादन के कारण होने वाले मुकदमों से परेशान हो चुकी है इसलिए उसने यह फैसला लिया है। बता दें कि कंपनी ने अमेरिका और कनाडा में टेल्कम पाउडर का उत्पादन पहले ही बंद कर दिया है।
बीते कुछ वर्षों में कंपनी के बेबी पाउडर से कैंसर होने के आरोप लग चुके हैं। इसके कारण कंपनी को लंबी कानूनी लड़ाई लड़नी पड़ी है। कैंसर की आशंका वाली रिपोर्ट सामने आने पर कंपनी के उत्पादों की बिक्री में भी काफी गिरावट देखने को मिली थी। मीडिया रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक कंपनी अब टैल्क बेस्ड पाउडर की जगह स्टार्च पर आधारित पाउडर का उत्पादन करेगी।
🔹क्या होता है टेल्कम पाउडर?
टैल्क एक प्राकृतिक रूप से पाया जाने वाला मिनरल है। इससे बने पाउडर को टैल्कम पाउडर कहते हैं। इस मैग्नीशियम, सिलिकॉन, ऑक्सीजन और हाइड्रोजन से बना होता है। टैल्क का रासायनिक नाम Mg3Si4O10(OH)2 है। कॉस्मेटिक और पर्सनल केयर बनाने में इसका इस्तेमाल किया जाता है। इसमें नमी को सोखने का गुण होता है।
ब्यूटी केयर प्रोडक्ट में टैल्क के इस्तेमाल पर सवाल उठते रहे हैं। माना जाता है कि इसके इस्तेमाल से कैंसर होता है। दरअसल, जहां से टैल्क निकाला जाता है वहीं से एस्बेस्टस भी निकलता है। एस्बेटस जिसे अभ्रक भी कहा जाता है एक प्रकार का सिलिकेट मिनरल है। इसका क्रिस्टल स्ट्रक्चर अलग होता है। इससे शरीर की कोशिकाओं को नुकसान पहुंचता है, कहा जाता है कि टैल्क की माइनिंग के दौरान इसमें एस्बेस्टस के मिलने का भी खतरा रहता है।

The company had announced to stop the production of talcum powder from the year 2023.

The company has already stopped the production of talcum powder in the US and Canada.
In the past few years, there have been allegations of cancer from the company's baby powder. Due to this the company had to fight a long legal battle. Sales of the company's products also saw a significant drop when the cancer scare report came to the fore. According to media reports, the company will now produce starch based powder instead of talc based powder.

Talc is a naturally occurring mineral. The powder made from it is called talcum powder. This is made up of magnesium, silicon, oxygen and hydrogen. The chemical name of talc is Mg3Si4O10(OH)2. It is used in making cosmetic and personal care. It has the property of absorbing moisture.
